I'm a member of NOddIN, a Tokyo-based collective of filmmakers, copywriters, artists, and designers who consider the current and future of Japan and express our concerns through our creative work. The theme of our annual exhibit this year is 'to doubt'.
As you may know, this past September, Japan's Abe administration passed a series of security laws that now allow for Japanese military action in support of collective defense abroad. This is a violation (as stated as a 'reinterpretation') of Japan's Constitution, including the Article 9 that is known as the Peace Constitution.
In response, I created a set of hand-sewed boy's & girl's baby clothing made of camouflage fabric with matched shoes. The accompanied greeting card says:
"Welcome to this world!
For your bright future fighting for your country,
I send you these camouflage baby clothing.
