FIREBIRD is a 12-minute live performance piece that I created in collaboration with a dancer and six skilled glass blowers. It was commissioned by Museum of Glass in Tacoma, Washington, and it premiered at the musuem on September 11, 2010.

As Stravinsky’s The Firebird dramatically unfolds, I initiated the visual and emotional dialogues by creating abstract drawings using molten glass as if it were my paintbrush. The dancer then responded with her body movements while the glass blowers were continuously blowing and casting glass behind the scene.
